Love Letters To My City

Debut Solo Show at Schoolhouse Studios

2025, Melbourne, Australia

In collaboration with Schoolhouse Studios, Love Letters to My City marked the debut solo exhibition of multidisciplinary artist Laetitia Um. Held at Schoolhouse’s Coburg gallery, the exhibition unfolded through four immersive sets that explored the universal experiences of change and loss. The works traced how memory and emotion live within the urban landscape through sculpture, moving image and paintings. A dedicated reflection area invited visitors to write their own letters to the city, fostering connection and dialogue within the space.

The exhibition extended beyond the gallery walls through public programs developed with collaborators alliene (fashion designer), counterpose archives, and HOISZN magazine. Together, they transformed the week into a living exchange of; pop-up libraries, workshops, conversations, and a runway, weaving collective memory and community voices into the heart of the project.
